Privacy & listing guidelines
JohnstownGuide.com is an independent local business directory and classifieds website. We store the details you submit to publish and manage your listing. Your contact email is visible to the site administrator, but is not published on listings. Listing names, descriptions, phone numbers, locations and optional website and ordering links are public after approval.
We use a session cookie for login, submission security and confirmation messages. A hashed network address is stored to limit spam. Public pages load Google AdSense advertising code. Google and its partners may use cookies and advertising identifiers under their own policies. Third-party restaurant ordering sites and banner destinations operate under their own policies. Uploaded photos and addresses are public after approval. Google Maps receives map searches and may use cookies under its own policies. Advertising payments open on Stripe or PayPal, which handle payment details under their own policies. We do not store card details, process food orders, or collect payment for classified items. The administrator manually verifies advertising and package payments. Featured placement costs $25 USD for 30 days; inventory packages cost $50 for up to 25 listings or $100 for up to 50 listings, each for 30 days. Paid terms start at activation after verification and review. There is no automatic renewal. Free individual classified listings expire 30 days after first approval. A featured upgrade keeps an individual classified listing active through the paid term. Expired featured business-directory listings return to basic placement; expired bulk listings are no longer public.
A free account is required to post a directory or classified listing. We store your name, email, optional profile phone and city, hashed password and hashed recovery code. Your profile is private and visible to you and the administrator; the contact information you choose for each approved listing is public. Use My account to edit or delete your listings, or mark a classified item as sold before its expiration. Sold listings leave public searches; their original page shows a sold notice. Existing listings can be linked using their original management code. Account recovery uses the private code shown after sign-up; automated recovery emails are not sent. Post only accurate information you are authorized to share. No illegal goods, scams, impersonation or misleading advertisements. The administrator may decline or remove listings. Verify sellers, prices and availability before paying or visiting.
